Brewbot – Craft a Cold One

It’s a pretty good time to be alive. You can print out organs, jet packs will be coming to the public market soon, and science has found a way to effectively create a real-life Amazonian society. Most of us have never brewed beer in an actual brewery, but luckily, we live in the future. Now, thanks to science, you can brew your own craft beer wherever you like.

Make It, Take It

Between timers, thermometers, expenses, and just generally trying not to burn anything down, brewing can be a labor intensive process. But if you’re looking to take your passion about craft beer to the next level, there’s now a better way to brew. Brewbot is a brewing appliance that can be controlled right from your phone. And the cool thing is, it’s made for everyone (21 +, I mean). You don’t need to be an expert, intermediate, or even on a level to be able to use it. Brewbot guides you through the entire process from start to finish.

The Brewbot runs on technology that lets you have your own master brewery. New recipes, ingredients, and flavors are (literally) in the palm of your hand. Most brewing set ups take up a significant portion of a room, but the creators of Brewbot wanted to change that. In their words, they wanted to take it “out of the garage and into the home.”

So What Goes in the Pot?

First, you buy your ingredients (getting them from a brew shop or online usually works best), then you set up your recipe in the app and connect your iPhone to the Brewbot. You have the option of creating your own recipe or using one of the preprogrammed ones and then you tap “Start Brew,” and you are now a craft brewer. Just update your LinkedIn profile.

The amounts and temperatures needed for proper brewing are already programmed into the apparatus, so there’s no need to freak out about maneuvering or measurements. Fermentation takes place in light blocking, stainless steel tanks, in order to protect the hops. As long as your iPhone has the Bluetooth activated, Brewbot gives you feedback throughout the entire process-from adding grain to the time you’ll have to wait to get your hands on your lager.
